Dr. Lauren Emmel
Faculty
Assistant Coordinator of Clinical Education, Physical Therapy
University of Mary

Lauren Emmel, PT, DPT, grew up in a small, rural community in Stearns County, Minnesota. She was influenced by the Benedictine sisters of St. Benedict’s Monastery throughout her childhood years, most especially through attending a Catholic grade school. Lauren attended the University of St. Catherine in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, earning a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

As a physical therapist, Lauren worked primarily in the areas of pediatrics and acute care physical therapy. From very early on in her career, Lauren desired to work with students as a clinical instructor. A desire for additional mentorship resulted in a call to the University of Mary.

Lauren and her husband, Nick, along with their five children (Caeli, Lucy, Annie, Jude, and Raphael), enjoy traveling, cooking, and time spent around the table.
