John Kincaid, PhD, serves as Administrative Chair of University-Wide Programs and Associate Professor of Theology at the University of Mary.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Kincaid received his PhD in Theology from Ave Maria University in 2015. Before receiving his PhD, Kincaid received a ThM from Duke University, an MA in Theology from Covenant Theological Seminary, and a BA in Theology from Geneva College. He and his wife Kristen have six children, Natalie, Jack, Evelyn, Olivia, Gabriella, and Mary Grace.
Before coming to the University of Mary in 2019, Dr. Kincaid was previously a member of the theology faculty at John Paul the Great Catholic University as well as Franciscan University of Steubenville. His research interests center on Pauline theology and its reception history, the soteriology of Augustine and Aquinas, and the challenge of contemporary biblical hermeneutics. Dr. Kincaid is currently finishing a manuscript on the theme of justification in the Pauline letters as well as working on a co-written manuscript on biblical interpretation with Michael Waldstein.
In his position as Administrative Chair of University-Wide Programs, Dr. Kincaid’s primary responsibility is to oversee the Global Studies Program. In particular, Kincaid oversees two satellite campuses of the University of Mary, Mary College at Arizona State University and the University of Mary’s Rome Campus. Mary College at ASU is a domestic exchange program that provides students from the University of Mary the opportunity to take classes from both Mary College and Arizona State, as well as providing students at Arizona State the ability to take classes at Mary College and receive Arizona State credit. The University of Mary’s Rome Campus provides students from every program and discipline a unique opportunity for academic growth and personal development in the heart of the Eternal City.
