David Echelbarger, PhD, joined the philosophy program at the University of Mary in 2014. He currently serves as an Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs -- focusing on integrating the university's mission and Benedictine values into its non-traditional programs. In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Echelbarger is a faculty mentor for the University of Mary's Gregorian Scholars Honors Program.

Before earning his PhD in Philosophy from Baylor University in 2014, Dr. Echelbarger received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies from St. Norbert College in 2007. His primary academic and teaching interests are the moral philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Capital Vices Tradition, moral psychology, and the intersection between ethical theory and moral practice — especially within the field of bioethics.
